About Us

Our Story

MC Badminton (formerly known as MR Sports Badminton Academy) was founded in 2014 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Founder and Head Coach, Martin Castrodes, quit his job to pursue his lifelong dream of starting his own Badminton academy. His vision is to bring the sport into the mainstream of UAE sporting culture and promote inclusive Badminton programmes for all ages and abilities.

Martin Castrodes

  • More than 20+ years of Badminton coaching experience in the Philippines and UAE
  • Bachelor of Physical Education, University of the Philippines
  • Represented the Philippines in Arafura Games (Australia, 2000)
  • Badminton World Federation (BWF) Shuttle Time Certified Teacher
  • Badminton World Federation (BWF) Level 1 & 2 Certified Coach
  • Certified COVID Safe Sport Coach
  • Experience in coaching People of Determination
